Transparency

How CompAeros data works.

Before you use intelligence to make a multi-million-dollar acquisition decision, you should know exactly where it comes from, how it is verified, and what its limits are.

Aircraft profiles

Aircraft specification and performance data.

Primary sources

Aircraft performance, payload, range, and systems data is compiled from OEM pilot operating handbooks, FAA type certificate data sheets (TCDS), EASA type certificate data sheets, and aircraft flight manuals. Where OEM data conflicts with operator experience, we note both.

Source confidence score

Every aircraft profile carries a source confidence score (expressed as a percentage). Higher scores reflect more primary OEM documentation; lower scores reflect models where we rely more on aggregated operator reports. Scores below 0.80 are flagged in the profile.

Operating cost estimates

Operating cost figures (per-hour fuel burn, maintenance reserves, engine reserves, insurance, hangar) are illustrative estimates based on fleet average data and operator reports. They are not guarantees. Actual costs depend on utilisation, base location, crew structure, and insurance market conditions.

Listings

How listings reach the platform.

Partner broker listings

Aircraft listings sourced from verified partner brokers are attributed to the sourcing broker. Partner status requires a signed data-sharing agreement. CompAeros does not publish partner broker names publicly without consent, but broker attribution is preserved in the deal room.

Public source ingest

Some listings are ingested from public aviation listing databases and are attributed to their original source. These listings are aggregated for research and comparison purposes and link back to the original broker or dealer for enquiries.

Demo listings

During the platform's private beta, some aircraft cards may be demo listings used to illustrate platform capabilities. All demo listings are clearly labelled "Demo — not an active offer for sale." They use representative real-world data but are not live market offers.

Price intelligence

How price estimates work.

Asking prices

Where a listing includes an asking price from the seller or broker, it is displayed as stated. CompAeros does not alter or estimate asking prices from active listings.

Price range estimates

Aircraft profile pages show acquisition price ranges (minimum and maximum). These are derived from aggregated transaction data, broker data, and public market records over a rolling 24-month window. They represent typical market ranges, not appraisals.

Price confidence

A price confidence indicator shows data depth: high confidence means we have multiple recent comparable transactions; lower confidence means the estimate is based on fewer data points or older records. Always verify with a qualified appraiser before transacting.

Data freshness

How listings are kept current.

Update frequency

Partner broker listings are updated on a schedule agreed with each partner. Public-source listings are re-ingested periodically. All listing cards display a "last updated" indicator so you can see data age at a glance.

Stale listing detection

Listings that have not been updated for more than 90 days are flagged as potentially stale. Listings that a partner confirms are sold or withdrawn are removed or marked as closed. We do not guarantee real-time accuracy.

Price change tracking

Where price changes are detected between updates, the platform notes the direction of change (reduced / increased) and the date detected. Historical price history is not yet publicly surfaced but is retained internally.

AI and recommendations

What AI does and does not do on this platform.

Mission-fit scoring

Mission-fit scores are calculated algorithmically from the mission parameters you set (passengers, range, runway, budget, fuel type) matched against aircraft specification data. They are a structured ranking tool — not a recommendation to buy a specific aircraft.

AI Broker research

The AI Broker researches candidate aircraft and drafts outreach messages. All research is based on publicly available listing data and the FAA aircraft registry. All outreach drafts are reviewed by the user before sending — nothing is auto-sent.

AI limits

AI on this platform does not determine airworthiness, provide legal advice, conduct background checks on sellers, verify title or lien status, or guarantee any aspect of a transaction. All AI outputs require human review.

Broker protection

How we protect broker relationships.

Attribution preservation

When a listing is sourced from a specific broker, buyer enquiries are routed through the broker — not directly to the seller. CompAeros does not disintermediate brokers who submit listings.

Off-market sourcing rules

AI Broker off-market research uses the FAA registry to identify potential aircraft owners. Outreach is drafted for user review and subject to suppression lists and frequency caps. Registry data is used for research only — not scraped for bulk lists.

Conflict of interest

CompAeros does not take transaction fees, referral fees, or commissions from brokers or sellers. Platform revenue comes from platform subscriptions and research services. This means our incentive is always to provide the best intelligence, not to promote any specific listing.
